Draco is talking again, at least to me. He is, as expected, doing poorly; his sense of self-worth has been tied up in his ability to be of use for quite some time, and that ability to be of use is now being threatened.

I have done what I might to convince him that his life is not over, but — a task for him in the next few days might help, more than any amount of verbal reassurance. Something to show him that the Order did not only value him for what he can no longer provide.

I'm so very glad to hear he's talking. Of course he's of value. And hearing it confirmed from me as well will hopefully help matters.

I can come over first thing tomorrow to talk about what he and Hermione might do.

And Severus, I hope you know that all three of you are welcome to call Moddey your home.

I do not know where any of us will wind up. I suppose Moddey makes the most sense for me — Black's sense of hospitality will likely wear thin quickly enough when confronted with the reality of two depressed teenagers and his least favourite person — but I will not leave Draco and Hermione unsupported, for all that Hermione does not wish to see me at the moment; I will, of necessity, go where they do.

Speaking of tasks: I have volunteered to attempt the Ministry's message archives, and although it might seem radical, I propose to bring Draco with me. Under polyjuice he would not be recognised, and — although I do not know how best to help him — I am convinced that mouldering away in this house is not the way to do it.

This is not something we can wait for.

Sirius seems to have reached the end of his tether, by the by. Apparently, he's rather fond of his cauldrons. Should I come over now so we can talk rather than hold things off til tomorrow? It's no bother at all.

Yes, we have been banished from the stillroom. I cannot blame him; I have been utterly useless all day.

I am questioning Miss Brodie about the logistics. I agree that this cannot wait; I would be content to go tonight.
